Mhairi Black, SNP MP for Paisley and Renfrewshire South, is keen to involve constituents as she prepares to present her Private Members Bill to Parliament on the 29th of June.

Last Thursday, the 26th of May, Mhairi’s name was drawn 6th in the Private Members Bill Ballot, allowing Mhairi to present a Bill to Parliament for debate, and potentially become law.

Mhairi is reviewing many options for her Bill, and is asking that any constituent who wishes to share their ideas or thoughts to contact her Constituency Office at mhairi.black.mp@parliament.uk or First Floor, 10 Wellmeadow Street, Paisley, PA1 2EE.

Mhairi plans to publish three possible options before the deadline and invite constituents to let her know which one they would prefer her to take forward.

Commenting Mhairi said: “I am very excited to have the chance to present a Bill to Parliament. This is an opportunity that most MPs do not get in their time at Westminster, and I plan to use this chance to make a real change.

“The input of constituents who have already been in touch with me has been invaluable, which is why I am asking that anyone who has an idea, a thought, or an opinion gets in touch as soon as possible to share them with me.

“It is very rare that a Private Member’s Bill becomes law, but I am determined, and will put every effort into making it so.”
