Gavin Newlands, MP for Paisley and Renfrewshire North, has visited Thermo Fisher Scientific, in Inchinnan, to speak to management and staff to learn more about the work that they do.
Thermo Fisher Scientific, in various guises, has been doing business in Renfrewshire since 1970. Currently, the recently expanded Inchinnan site is home to more than 650 employees across the finance, customer service, IT, HR and commercial operations functions supporting their Life Sciences Solutions group in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
The manufacturing of cell culture and molecular products, distribution of Life Science Solutions products and provision of biochemical screening services all take place at this facility. Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is the world leader in serving science, with revenues of $17 billion and more than 50,000 employees in 50 countries.
In 2015, Thermo Fisher Scientific won the ROCCO Award for Innovation and Technology.

“Thermo Fisher Scientific are one of the largest employers in Renfrewshire, with over 650 staff based in Inchinnan. It’s clear that they take their role in the community very seriously and I look forward to doing all that I can to support their work and contribution to the Renfrewshire economy over the next few years.
