Hotel gussets at the Holiday Inn Express at Glasgow Airport were evacuated in the early hours of Friday morning.
Police and emergency services responded to reports of a gas leak, on a roadway outside close to the carpark at the Holiday Inn Express at Glasgow Airport.
SGN network engineers were quickly on the scene and worked on repairs.
As a precaution and to ensure the safety of those in vicinity, the M8 was closed at junctions 27 and junction 29 and guests staying at Holiday Inn Express were moved to a rendezvous point at the nearby Holiday Inn Hotel.
The leak happened around 2.45am on Friday 9th September 2016.
