Police are appealing for information following a serious road collision in Linwood.
A 10 year-old girl was stuck by a black Peugeot 207 car on Clippens Road, Linwood, close to the Stirling Gate.
The girl was taken by ambulance to the Royal Hospital for Children where medical staff describe her condition as serious.
No one else was injured in the collision.
The incident happened around 3.30pm on Sunday 2nd October 2016.
Clippens Road was re-opened to traffic at approximately 8.55pm following an investigation of the scene.
Constable Ian Murray, from the Greenock Divisional Road Policing Unit, said today:
“This was a serious incident which has left a young girl in a serious condition at hospital. We are still determining the circumstances surrounding the collision.
“We would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or who has any information that will help us with our ongoing investigation.
“Details can be passed to the Greenock Divisional Road Policing Unit via 101.”
