Gavin Newlands was joined by a group of newly elected SNP Councillors and supporters at Renfrew Town Hall yesterday to launch his re-election campaign.
Campaigning has begun for most MP candidates this weekend across the UK after a snap General Election was called for 8th June 2017.
SNP man Newlands said: “After yesterday’s fantastic council results in Renfrewshire, where we are now clearly the largest party, we have the momentum necessary for the campaign.
“However, the rise of the tories is a stark reminder to us all of the dangers of complacency. What the tory result across the country will do is concentrate the voters minds and make it clear that the choice facing them is an SNP MP or a tory MP.”
