St Matthew’s has appointed artist Mark Small to lead on new arts project ‘Nouveau Life’
As part of the Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival 2017, generously supported by Paisley2021 and as part of the wider Nouveau Arts Experience ‘St Matthew’s Presents’, ‘Nouveau Life’ is an exciting new project that wishes to tell the story of St Matthew’s then and now.
Mark Small, an experienced artist, director and producer will work with all groups that currently use the St Matthew’s building and create a series of bespoke multimedia installations reflecting the users and the inspiring Art Nouveau architecture of William Daniel McLennan. St Matthew’s encourages every community, school, organisation and individual in Paisley and Renfrewshire to visit whilst Mark is in residence.
Mark’s residency will begin from Saturday 9 September for one week, with a further week to be confirmed by late September, as well as the official exhibition from Monday 23 October to Friday 27 October, all based at St Matthew’s, Gordon Street, Paisley, PA1 1XL.
Jamie Goodwin, Project Manager for St Matthew’s Presents, said:
“We’re delighted to invite Mark to lead on our Nouveau Life Project. He is an exciting artist with a wealth of experience that will greatly benefit the people he will be working with. This is a great opportunity for everyone in the community to celebrate local history and what St Matthew’s means to them.’’
