University of the West of Scotland’s Civil Engineering, Engineering Management, Physics and Law & Business courses have all come top in the UK for overall student satisfaction in the National Student Survey (NSS) 2017.The survey saw 100% of survey respondents studying these four courses state that they were satisfied overall with their course.
This is the seventh year that UWS, which is committed to providing a high quality student learning experience, has participated in the NSS, which is the most wide-ranging survey of student satisfaction across the UK.
UWS aims to be a sector leader in personalised learning and continues to invest heavily in its learning resources and learning spaces. It also enjoys strong business links that inform and propel its learning provision and provide students with access to a range of industries.

The University’s Civil Engineering degree, which is accredited by the Institution of Civil Engineers, combines study with invaluable workplace experience. This practical course covers broad-based civil engineering subjects and develops technical, managerial and financial skills to enable graduates to design, construct and organise civil engineering projects.
The BA Law & Business equips students with knowledge of law and business which enables graduates to compete for employment in a wide variety of sectors such as within the legal profession as a paralegal assisting solicitors or to obtain places on employer graduate training schemes such as that offered by the NHS.
The University’s BEng (Hons) Engineering Management degree develops students’ technological problem-solving skills and their organisational, planning and management abilities to enable them to successfully oversee complex engineering projects from start to finish.
Accredited by the Institute of Physics, the University’s Physics develops students’ professional skills and expertise for a career in any area of physics, from industrial applications to academic research.
