Community group Bee Happy Houston has completed the planting of 20,000 spring bulbs around the village – in eight days.
The final push took place yesterday, with 2,000 bulbs planted on the verge at Houston Road at the roundabout and 450 bulbs on the verge heading towards the roundabout near the shops.
Jill Jack of Bee Happy Houston took to Facebook to thank everyone involved, she said: “A huge thank you each and every volunteer who has given up their time to complete this huge task to make Houston even more beautiful next spring!
“We couldn’t do it without you.
“We are also delighted to have received an advancing award certificate from Keep Scotland Beautiful at their annual seminar in Stirling yesterday.
“A special thanks must go to Jake who has been out planting EVERY day since last Thursday and organising transport of tools and areas for planting .”
