The Bowfield Hotel & Country Club held its annual 10K in June, and raised over £1,000 for St. Vincent’s Hospice.
The 10K charity race is now a regular feature on the Bowfield Hotel’s calendar and is named the Grace Kissell Charity Road Race in memory of colleague Grace.
This year’s run was sponsored by Decathlon and ChemTech, and around 50 people got together to run the route which travels through the Howwood countryside.
A total of £1,150 was raised for St Vincent’s Hospice. Laura McDade, charity fundraiser, and mascot Vinnie, popped in the hotel gym to collect the donation.
Laura McDade said, “This is a fantastic sum of money raised by those who took part in the Bowfield 10K! We need close to £6,000 a day and over two million pounds a year to keep the hospice open, bue we actually need more than that if we are to care for an increased number of people and provide additional services, particularly for children suffering bereavement. We really cannot thank both the staff at the Bowfield and the participants of the 10K enough for their incredible efforts”.
The Bowfield Hotel & County Club has been a longstanding supporter of the hospice and two members of the hotel also recently raised £500 for the charity by doing a zip slide across the River Clyde.
The Bowfield Hotel is part of the Manorview Hotels & Leisure Group portfolio, which includes Cornhill Castle, in Biggar, Lanarkshire, Boclair House in Bearsden, Glasgow, The Busby Hotel in Busby, Glasgow and The Lynnhurst Hotel in Johnstone.
