A local councillor, Kenny MacLaren has highlighted a project by energy company EON where community groups can apply for help with their energy costs.
Since launching in 2013, the EON Energising Communities Fund has distributed over £140,000 to almost 85 community groups nationwide to fund energy-related projects.
EON understands that heating bills can account for a large part of the running costs for a community group or charity so the need to become energy efficient and save on costs is really important. Through this fund EON hope to assist these groups and charities to become more sustainable and begin to lower these costs.
SNP councillor Kenny MacLaren, Paisley Northwest said: “Local groups can apply for funding of up to £2,000 which can cover the full or partial cost of energy-related improvements and activities”
“This is a good opportunity for local groups to apply for funding to help tackle their energy costs.
“I would encourage local groups to go online and find out more about this funding opportunity.”
To be eligible for funding, organisations must submit a request by midnight on Monday 29th January 2018.
