The Paisley Child Contact Centre has received an award of £1,000 from the Scottish Children’s Lottery.
The local charity supports children experiencing emotional distress by providing a safe environment in which youngsters can meet with their parents following the break-up of relationships.
The award will meet the costs of running the charity in various premises and ensure volunteers meet the relevant child protection safeguards.
Scottish Conservative MSP for the West of Scotland, Maurice Golden, said: “I was very pleased to hear that the Paisley Child Contact Centre was awarded this grant. This charity ensures that children experiencing emotional distress can access the confidential support they need in times of hardship.
“I understand that the grant will ensure the continuation of the charity’s operations and wish them every success in supporting youngsters.”
Councillor John McIntyre for Paisley Northwest, also Scottish Conservative, said: “This grant will support an extremely important local charity that helps children through difficult times. I am very pleased to see that their contribution is being recognised by the Scottish Children’s Lottery and that the award will be put to such good use.”
