Tom Arthur, MSP for Renfrewshire South, was pleased to welcome a team from Neilston and Uplawmoor First Responders to the Scottish Parliament yesterday recently.
Taking part in a Members’ Business Debate, Tom took the opportunity to highlight the work done by first responders in his constituency and pay tribute to the staff and volunteers.
During the debate, Tom spoke of the invaluable work done delivering front-line medical care to communities by the team.
Speaking after the debate, Tom said: “We owe a debt of gratitude to the volunteers and staff who provide this life-saving service.
“I was pleased to meet with some of the team when they came to hear the debate in the Scottish Parliament.
“It was great to hear the Minister for Public Health and Sport, Aileen Campbell, say she will be happy to engage and listen to suggestions on the long-term financial sustainability of our first responders.
“Our First Responders from Neilston and Uplawmoor receive fantastic support from all across the communities they serve, and I look forward to supporting them as they continue in their outstanding work.”
