A local politician, Mhairi Black MP is urging people to get involved with Volunteer Week.

Volunteer Week is an annual chance to celebrate the contribution volunteers make to their communities. This year’s Volunteers Week is celebrating volunteering for all.

From trustees and campaigners to carers and fundraisers, charities’ and voluntary groups are taking this opportunity to recognise the fantastic and unique contribution all volunteers make.

MP for Paisley and Renfrewshire South, Mhairi Black, recently visited the British Heart Foundation – Paisley Clearance Store to visit the staff and volunteers. The British Heart Foundation store highlighted to Mhairi that they are in need of volunteers in the store.

Mhairi, said: “I was really pleased to go along and visit the Heart Foundation store in Paisley. The staff and volunteers do a fantastic job in a very busy shop on Paisley High Street.

“Store manager Ben highlighted to me that the store has a need for more volunteers to help out. If you are looking for some retail experience in a fun and challenging atmosphere I would urge you to pop into the store and have a chat with Ben.
