A national house builder has secured planning consent from East Renfrewshire Council for 137 new homes off Neilston Road in Neilston.

Taylor Wimpey West Scotland identified a 15 acre site for housing in the Local Development Plan and Planning Permission in Principle was granted in March 2016.

As part of the Planning Permission in Principle, a Section 75 Planning Agreement was entered into with East Renfrewshire Council, and the development of this site will deliver new affordable housing as well as further investment in local education and community facilities.

The company said that Kirkton View in Neilston represents a significant investment in the local area and will deliver a range of two, three and four bedroom homes in a variety of styles and sizes to appeal to a wide range of customers.

The development is set in rural and mature countryside on the outskirts of Neilston off the A736 Neilston Road and is within easy walking distance of the local amenities on Main Street in Neilston. Kirkton View will also aim to maximise its setting with the provision of tree-lined streets and pedestrian routes to the protected urban greenspace to the west of the site.

New trees will also be planted in order to create an area of woodland to the east of the development that will maximise the tranquil setting this development will offer buyers choosing this location to call home. A central green area will provide a substantial play area.
