Police have been targeting anti-social behaviour at Fountain Gardens Park in Paisley.

As a result of resident concerns, officers from the local Community Policing Team have been carrying out regular patrols throughout the day and evenings to prevent youths congregating and causing disorder.

Inspector Tracy Harkins, said: “Over recent months we have received reports of youths gathering within the park area. This in itself would not be an issue however many of the youths are drinking which leads to anti-social behaviour occurring.

“Fountain Gardens is a well maintained community park and local people should be able to enjoy the area without this type of behaviour.

“As a result of the extra patrols by both local officers and the Community Warden Service, calls concerning the Gardens have decreased in recent weeks. To ensure this trend continues I would ask local resident to call Police Scotland on telephone number 101 should they see any large groups gathering or witness any anti-social behaviour occurring.”
