Manorview Hotels & Leisure Group have shown commitment to their team’s wellbeing by signing up to the Hospitality Action Employee Assistance Programme.
Turning their attention to Mental Health Awareness Week which began on Monday until the 19th May, the Group, who are always striving to improve the support and working environment of their 500+ people, have invested in the Hospitality Action Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).
Hospitality Action has over 180 years of experience and are uniquely placed to understand the challenges faced by people in the industry. They potentially look after five million people who are currently working or retired from the hospitality industry.
Their Employee Assistance Programme has been developed by hospitality people for hospitality people, and it’s a free, confidential and independent service which is available at any time.
Help can be accessed via a website portal, which offers assistance sheets, self-help guides and signposting to many resources of information.
There is also an Assistance Telephone Line, where employees will have access to a dedicated team of experts who are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
These experts will be a source of advice offering counselling, legal advice, debt counselling, mindfulness courses, parenting advice, substance misuse support and grant assistance.
The range of topics covered by EAP include:
- Improving health and wellbeing
- Dealing with financial pressures
- Managing working life
- Helping to overcome personal challenges
- Coping with alcohol, drug, gambling and other addictive behaviours
- Legal issues
The Employee Assistance Programme also provides valuable tools and support for managers who are dealing with difficult situations, as well resources to help them support individual team members who may be dealing with challenging personal circumstances.
The Manorview Hotel & Leisure Group formed in 2007, with the purchase of one hotel – The Commercial Hotel in Wishaw. The award-winning Group now comprises eight hotels, two nightclubs, two pubs, a fitness & leisure centre and luxury spa, and a diverse workforce of over 500.
The Group have a strong focus and commitment to the mental health and wellbeing of their people and are constantly striving to provide good working environments. This has involved all their management team recently undergoing training programmes provided by SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health). The Group also have an ongoing charity initiative where some of their teams have fundraised and supported mental health awareness charities.
