SNP Councillors Jim Paterson and Cathy McEwan are urging Renfrew residents to have their say on a planning application which if approved would see the addition of 49 homes to the Wright Street area.

An application was submitted by Ambassador Homes and following the completion of basic checks by Council Officers is now open to public comment until the 8th June.

Ambassador Homes have recently finished another development in Renfrew at Maitland Gardens where they built a mix of detached and semi-detached 3 bedroom properties.

Comments can be submitted online or in writing and should use the reference 19/0310/PP. Details on how to submit a comment can be found on the Renfrewshire Council website.

Cllr Jim Paterson said: “When the area was cleared of trees a number of weeks ago I received contact from numerous residents looking for information on what was being proposed for the site.

“Although it was clear that the land was being cleared for building purposes it is only last week that a formal application was submitted by Ambassador Homes for housing.”

Cllr Cathy McEwan said: “It is important that local residents have their say on this application as the addition of 49 houses will be a major change to the area and only by making their views known can they be taken into account by Council Officers”
