Residents of Houston are encouraged to attend a public exhibition to learn more about a joint application made by CALA Homes (West) and Acorn Property Group for a proposed development south east of Woodend House, on Houston Road.

The site has been recently allocated within the Renfrewshire Proposed Local Development Plan.

Included in proposals is the development of approx. 57 homes, ranging from two-bedroom cottage flats to five bedroom detached properties. This includes 14 affordable homes in-line with new Renfrewshire Council planning guidelines.

Also included in site plans is the creation of green open space to compliment the surrounding countryside, as well as the removal of trees some of which currently block natural daylight to neighbouring housing.

Visitors are welcomed to attend to learn more about the project and share their views at the exhibition, which is taking place across two sessions at:

  • Carrick Centre, 1A Main Street, Houston, PA6 7EL on Tuesday 27th August, between 1pm – 8pm and Sunday 1st September, between 12pm – 8pm

Andrew Duncan, Land Director for CALA Homes (West), said: “Houston is a thriving village in an attractive location with good local amenities, presenting CALA with a strong opportunity to provide premium homes to meet growing demand in the area.

“We’re now looking forward to engaging with residents and sharing our vision for the development at the upcoming public exhibitions. Hosting the engagement sessions over two dates, we hope to see a significant number of visitors attend so we can explain how we would like to deliver our proposals and to answer any questions they may have.”
