The owner of Renfrew’s intu Braehead Shopping Mall has revealed that it may collapse if it cannot find extra funding urgently.

Intu has reported a loss of £2 billion in 2019.

The company has blamed a weakness in the retail sector for the collapse.

To help keep it going, the firm has said it would try to engage with investors after an earlier plan to generate £1bn failed.

If it fails to rise extra funds, the firm may have to sell more of its assets.

The company has already sold some of it’s shopping centres to raise cash.
