The Big Glasgow Comic Page (BGCP) Comic Con is coming to Paisley for the first time this weekend.

An estimated 2,000 people are expected to attend the event at The Lagoon Leisure Centre on 29th April with 1000 tickets already bought in advance. The event includes traders, cosplayers, gaming, workshops, movie props and more.

BGCP has been organising comic con events for comic and movie mad fans all over the UK with its brand of fun, affordable events for several years and finally they’re set to arrive in Paisley.

Comic fans can expect everything on sale from Comic Books, Graphic Novels, 1st Appearance Comics, action figures, statues, pins, funko pops, trading cards, keyrings, toys, T-shirts, printed art, original art, mugs, lanyards, candles and D&D.

There will be workshops such as slime making workshops and superhero mask sessions for kids.

Jim Alexander of Planet Jimbot will be attending Paisley Comic Con. Jim has written for Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Darkhorse, 2000 AD and for Cartoon Network.

Jim also runs his own comic label Planet Jimbot which has produced Amongst the Stars (drawn by Mike Perkins), Wolf Country (drawn by Luke Cooper), the anthology Amazing & Fantastic Tales, GoodCopBadCop and sequel GoodCop.

There will also be appearances by Spider-Man, Bumblebee and Optimus Prime from the Transformers, Sonic the Hedgehog, Shadow the Hedgehog, Shrek, Ghostbusters, Star Wars Characters and other characters.

Attendees will be able to see props from Marvel, DC, Star Wars and beyond as well as enjoy a selection of arcade machines and consoles with thousands of games on offer to play, for free.

Tickets can be purchased on the day at the event, however due to the expected popularity of the event, organisers recommend that visitors order tickets in advance to avoid queues on the day.
