Police Scotland are appealing for information following the serious assault of a man in Paisley.

The incident happened between 5pm and 5.30pm on Monday in the Braehead Road area of the town.

The victim, a 68-year-old man, sustained injuries to his face and was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment.

Detective Constable Laura Sokolov said: “Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone with information to get in touch. This area has lots of shops and would have been busy at the time.

“We are keen to talk to two people who may be able to help with our enquiries. In particular, a white male aged in his 30’s, 6ft tall with short brown hair.

“We are also looking to trace a female described as around 30 years old with black shoulder length hair. She was with a child.

“Anyone who witnessed this assault or has dash-cam or CCTV footage from the area at the time is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 2918 of 15 May, 2023.”
