Police Scotland are appealing for information following a fatal crash in Renfrew.

The incident, involving a blue Ford Focus and a pedestrian, happened around 8am on Tuesday, 5th September, 2023, on Cambridge Road, Renfrew.

The pedestrian, an 81-year-old man, was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where he later died from his injuries.

The road was closed for around 6 hours to allow collision investigation to be carried out.

Road Policing Sergeant Andrew Coutts said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died and our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

“We are appealing to anyone who was in the area and saw what happened to contact us as your information could be vital.

“I would also ask anyone with any dash-cam or CCTV footage that could help with our investigation to get in touch.

“Anyone who can help is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0607 of Tuesday, 5 September, 2023.”
