A two-minute silence was held in Paisley today to mark Armistice Day.

Over 100 people stood in silence at the Paisley Cenotaph while a wreath was laid on the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month. The Armistice, an agreement to end the fighting of the First World War as a prelude to peace negotiations, began at 11am on 11 November 1918.

Remembrance Sunday services will be held in Paisley, Renfrew, Johnstone, Kilbarchan, Houston, Bridge of Weir, Lochwinnoch, Howwood and Elderslie tomorrow.
