Police Scotland are appealing for assistance from the public to trace a missing woman from the Lanark area who may be in Bishopton.

Claire Smith, 36, was last seen on Thursday getting into a white Renault Clio, registration SJ63 XBX. Officers believe she may have travelled to the Bishopton area.

Claire is described as 5ft tall with black medium length hair. Claire has various tattoos and piercings and has a teardrop tattoo under one of her eyes. She was last seen wearing light blue jogging bottoms and may also have her pet parrot with her.

Inspector Peter Johnstone said: “We are becoming increasingly concerned for Claire’s wellbeing and are appealing for anyone with information regarding her whereabouts to come forward.

“We would also urge Claire to please get in touch with someone to confirm she is safe and well.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 3500 of Thursday, 21st December.”
