A bus company who took over Lochwinnoch and Johnstone Station bus service have announced a significant improvement to the service.

Shuttle Buses, who have operated route 4 between Lochwinnoch and Johnstone Station since Key Coaches withdrew in November 2023, have announced they will restore the link between Lochwinnoch village and the train service at Lochwinnoch Station.

The new timetable will begin on Monday 26th February. All buses will start or finish at Lochwinnoch Station and will meet trains to and from Glasgow. The first bus from the village towards the station will leave at 7.33am, connecting into the 7.47am train to Glasgow, and last bus will leave the station at 5.13pm, meeting the 5.48pm train from Glasgow.

Ross Granger, Managing Director of Shuttle Buses, said: “Whilst we have been delighted with the local support for our service, we’ve had a lot of community feedback asking for the station link to be restored.

“I’m delighted to be able to deliver this, and we look forward to welcoming even more passengers onto our service”.

Timings of the main bus service between Lochwinnoch and Johnstone will change as a result, but the timetable will remain on an approximate hourly frequency as at present.

Local councillor Andy Doig said: “I think this is an ideal compromise between economy and community, and can I commend Shuttle Buses for its refreshing ability in listening to community concerns.”
