Shopmobility Renfrewshire – which provides services, advice and support to anyone in Renfrewshire with mobility problems – held their AGM at the Wynd Centre in Paisley on Tuesday 30th January 2024.

This was attended by the charity’s directors, staff and key volunteers.

Cllr Kenny MacLaren, Chairperson of Shopmobility Renfrewshire, said: “Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) was a great opportunity to review what we’ve achieved in the past year and to focus on our future”,

“It’s been a busy year for Shopmobility Renfrewshire as we continue our process of becoming a social enterprise – aiming to generate some of our own income. All our staff and volunteers have completed various training and personal development courses – improving their skills and the knowledge base within the charity.

“All our staff and volunteers are critical to the success of Shopmobility Renfrewshire, but I would like to especially thank our Office Manager and Fundraising Officer, Karen Miller, who has not only managed to keep the organisation going but has been successful in bringing in new funding for the organisation. We have also had some great assistance from Tania Morlan at Invest in Renfrewshire.

Karen Miller, Office Manager and Fundraising Officer said: “Shopmobility Renfrewshire relies on the hard work of our staff and volunteers, and we all have a common aim of breaking down the social barriers due to lack of mobility.

“Throughout the past year we have been working with more networks across Renfrewshire and wider afield, helping to promote the needs of those with mobility difficulties to ensure that they can fully participate in economic, social and cultural activities.”
