Temperatures in Renfrewshire are expected to reach a scorching 30°C today  – the hottest so far this year.

Sunshine will dominate for most of the day, though some hazy skies could drift in as high cloud moves up from the south-east. By 5pm, temperatures will begin to dip.

Tonight there will be clear skies across the area. Overnight temperatures will sit between 14°C and 16°C.

This heatwave is set to peak today, but warm and settled weather will continue into Sunday. Expect another sunny day tomorrow with highs of around 26°C.

Looking ahead, temperatures begin to cool from Monday, falling to about 18°C by Tuesday. Rain and thunderstorms are likely on Monday, bringing a marked change from the weekend’s dry spell.
