A Renfrewshire hospice is toasting one of its partners after a £37,000 donation was made, demonstrating their continued support.
ACCORD Hospice has received the five-figure sum from Renfrewshire Sports Charity, the group behind Paisley gym Pro-Life Fitness Centre, as their partnership continues to grow.
Renfrewshire Sports Charity’s latest donation of £37,000 means they have given nearly £100,000 to ACCORD since donations began in 2016/17.
These donations are a powerful demonstration of local support that will make a direct and lasting impact on people living with life-limiting illness in Renfrewshire and parts of East Renfrewshire.
The remarkable contribution comes through the unique model of Renfrewshire Sports Charity, where members’ fees at Pro-Life are reinvested into both the gym and vital local causes, including ACCORD and St Vincent’s Hospices.
Jacki Smart, CEO at ACCORD, said: “We are truly humbled by the generosity shown by the Pro Life team and every member who made this possible.
“£37,000 is a substantial gift that will help us deliver hundreds of hours of expert clinical care, emotional support, and practical help to families at the toughest of times. It’s a powerful reminder of what community support can achieve.
“This donation will fund care at the very heart of our hospice – from beds to complementary therapy, from our Inpatient Unit to people’s own homes. The difference this makes is profound.
“We cannot thank Robert McEwan enough for his continued personal passion and commitment to ACCORD, as well as his dedicated team at Pro-Life and the incredible members who make this support possible.”
Robert McEwan, Head of Operations at Pro-Life, said: “Supporting local hospices like ACCORD is something we’ve always felt passionate about at Pro-Life. We’re proud that our model allows us to give back in such a meaningful way. I want to thank our members — their loyalty and generosity are what make this support possible every year.”
