Staff from Auchenlodment Primary and ELCC join inflatable 5K and 10K for charity

🗓 23/08/2025

A group of 10 staff from Auchenlodment Primary School and Auchenlodment Early Learning Centre are lacing up their trainers today to take part in Glasgow’s Inflatable 5K and 10K runs in support of Beatson Cancer Charity.
The team – made up of teachers and early learning staff – set themselves a fundraising target of £1,500. They have already smashed that goal, but are continuing to encourage last-minute contributions through their JustGiving page. At the time of publishing, the school had raised £1,733.
The Beatson Cancer Charity is close to the hearts of staff at the school, and the team said they wanted to do something fun and challenging to support its vital work. While most staff are running the 5K route, some are taking on the bigger 10K challenge.
Teacher Winnifred Wengel, who created the school’s fundraising page, thanked parents, pupils and the wider community for their generosity so far. All money raised will go directly to Beatson to help patients and families across Scotland.
Kelly Beggs, from Auchenlodment Primary School PTA, wished all the staff well for their run. She said: “Good luck to Team APS taking part in today’s Inflatable 5K and 10K. They have already smashed their target for donations but if anyone would like to make a last-minute donation, please do so below.”
