The Bank of Scotland has announced that its branch in Erskine is to close, dealing another blow to local customers who rely on face-to-face banking.

It comes as part of the bank’s latest round of cuts which will see 13 branches shut across Scotland. The move is thought to be linked to a wider shift towards online and mobile banking, with fewer people visiting branches.

The closure adds to a growing list of losses for customers this year, with 16 Bank of Scotland branches already shut in 2025.

More details, including the official closure date, are expected to be confirmed in due course.
