Taylor Wimpey West Scotland has submitted a new planning application to Renfrewshire Council for what would be its final phase of housing in Bishopton’s Dargavel Village.

The detailed application – known as an Approval of Matters Specified in Conditions (AMSC) – covers plans for 315 new homes on land off Arrocher Drive, forming part of the long-running Dargavel Village masterplan.

The proposed development includes 257 homes from Taylor Wimpey’s new national range, alongside 58 properties from its Caledonian Collection. The mix is designed to cater for a variety of buyers, including first-time homeowners and growing families, with a choice of three, four and five-bedroom homes.

Among the key features are energy-efficient air source heat pumps for every home, enhanced biodiversity measures such as hedgehog highways and bee bricks, and safe pedestrian links connecting to the wider Dargavel area. The plans also highlight easy access to the new Central Park and village centre, as well as transport connections via Bishopton Train Station and the nearby M8 junction.

Martin Findlay, Technical Director at Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: “We are pleased to have reached this significant milestone, which also signals over 14 years of commitment to this new and vibrant Renfrewshire community since the first planning permission in principle was granted in 2011.

“We are very proud of our key role in the delivery of the Dargavel Village masterplan, and our latest proposal aims to complete our contribution with a well-connected, sustainable community that not only provides high-quality new homes but also enhances the local environment and supports long-term growth.”

If approved, this phase would mark the completion of Taylor Wimpey’s work in Dargavel Village, which has become one of Renfrewshire’s largest residential developments over the past decade.
