A Renfrewshire-based hospitality operator has announced it is sharing more than £135,000 of profit with its workforce.

Manorview, headquartered in Howwood, revealed that £135,766 will be paid out to team members across the business through its annual profit-share scheme. The news was delivered on Monday evening at staff meetings and events held across its venues.

The profit share forms part of Manorview’s longstanding Heartcount scheme, which sees 10 per cent of net profits shared with staff each year. Anyone who has been with the business for a year or more qualifies, and this week more than 300 team members are set to receive a payment alongside their wages.

Manorview’s portfolio includes a spread of boutique hotels and venues across central Scotland. In Renfrewshire, the local hotels Bowfield Hotel & Spa in Howwood and Lynnhurst Hotel in Johnstone are key parts of the group’s regional presence, both offering accommodation, dining and event space to visitors. Elsewhere the group’s portfolio includes seaside stays such as Brisbane House in Largs, countryside escapes like Cornhill Castle near Biggar, and urban hotels including The Redhurst Hotel in Giffnock and The Busby Hotel in Clarkston.

Unlike many bonus schemes, the Manorview payments are not based on job title or salary. Individual amounts are calculated purely on hours worked, meaning staff at every level receive the same return for the same time. Directors, managers, chefs, housekeepers, spa therapists and kitchen porters are all treated equally under the scheme.

This year’s announcement was marked with a celebration themed “A Slice for Everyone”, reflecting the idea that everyone plays a part in the company’s success. Teams were treated to pizza, cake and take-home goody bags at events held across the business.

Dani Fraser, Head of People at Manorview, said: “We are very proud of our Heartcount profit share scheme. Everyone, regardless of role, makes a positive contribution to Manorview and it’s only right that they then receive something in return. We are pleased that we’ve been sharing profits for seven years now, and to date over £968,000 has been shared fairly with our committed and caring team.”

Heartcount is the group’s only monetary bonus scheme, after moving away from performance or target-based bonuses for managers or sales teams several years ago. Fraser added that fairness is at the heart of the company’s decisions, and the scheme is structured to reflect that ethos.

While some newer staff do not yet qualify due to length of service, all team members were invited to take part in the celebrations as a thank-you for their contribution.

Manorview also runs the Manorview Foundation, a registered charity established in 2023, which has supported thousands of people through free events, hot meals and community sessions such as parent-and-baby and youth groups.
