Local residents have come together to improve a churchyard area in Renfrew as part of a community project led by Renfrew Community Council.
The clean-up was supported by members of Renfrew Development Trust and focused on practical improvements to the area.
Volunteers cleared litter, removed built-up leaves and debris, and opened up paths and edges that had become cluttered and slippery in wet weather. Waste was bagged and left on site for uplift.
Organisers said the aim was to help keep Renfrew looking cared for and to encourage pride in the town.
Jan Bunch, Vice-chair of Renfrew Community Council, said: “This is what community looks like. People giving a bit of their time and taking pride in Renfrew. It doesn’t take a massive crowd to make a noticeable change. Small actions, done regularly, lift a whole area.
The clean-up also demonstrates a wider point: community improvement isn’t just about meetings and plans. It’s about practical action that residents can see immediately. Renfrew Community Council hopes the effort encourages more people to get involved in small, local projects that strengthen community spirit and improve the town’s public spaces.”
