Williamwood High School in Clarkston received a Highly Commended rating in the Healthy Living Award at the Scottish School Food Awards.
The awards were presented at a black-tie dinner at Glenalmond School in Perthshire on Friday.
The Scottish School Food Awards celebrate high quality food, nutrition, sustainability and wellbeing programmes in state-run and independent schools. They were judged by a panel of independent experts from across the education sector.
Williamwood High School was praised for its family cookery evenings and work beyond the classroom.
Judges said the school was recognised for its work “outside the school gate.”
St Columba’s School in Kilmacolm, Inverclyde, also received a Highly Commended certificate. Judges described it as “demonstrating a proactive approach in developing wellbeing initiatives fit for the modern world.”
In Glasgow, the Glasgow Gaelic School won the Sustainability category.
Parkhill Secondary School in Glasgow regained the Hospitality Education Award it first won in 2023.
Glasgow City Council also won awards for Healthy Living and received a Special Award for its work as the largest provider of food for young people in Scotland, producing around 37,000 meals a day at a central facility.
The awards are the first of their kind in the UK.
