Finlay Murray and Briony Cornish were crowned winners at the first ever Paisley Half Marathon on Sunday 22nd March 2026.
Murray, representing East Sutherland AC, took first place in the men’s race with a time of 1:11:40. Ross Harvey of North Ayrshire Athletics Club finished second in 1:12:25, while Wil Scott placed third in 1:13:14.
In the women’s race, Briony Cornish of Maximum Mileage secured victory in 1:22:51. Emma Creasey of Giffnock North AC was second in 1:24:19, with Rachel Harman of Bellahouston Harriers third in 1:28:04.
John Sharp finished fourth overall in the men’s race in 1:14:07, followed by Kenneth Osborne in fifth with a time of 1:14:55.
Across the age categories, there were strong performances throughout the field.
Lewis Anderson won the U20 category in 1:22:30, while Beth Hunter was the top female U20 in 1:42:28.
In the senior categories, Murray and Creasey both took first place in their respective races.
David Houston won the V35 category in 1:18:16, with Briony Cornish taking the female V35 title in 1:22:51.
John Sharp was first in the V45 category in 1:14:07, while Rhona Fraser won the female V45 category in 1:31:24.
Matthew Watson won the V50 category in 1:28:28, with Joanne McDowall first in the female V50 category in 1:40:00.
Mark King claimed victory in the V55 category in 1:18:35, while Laura McKie was first in the female V55 category in 1:56:16.
John McCabe won the V60 category in 1:32:56, with Sal McManus first in the female V60 category in 1:55:26.
Colin Watson took the V65 title in 1:42:08, while Carly McLardy was the top female in that category in 1:37:49.
Gerard Kearns was the only finisher in the V80+ category, winning in 1:40:51.
Louise Turner won the female V40 category in 1:32:01, while Ross Harvey was first in the men’s V40 category in 1:12:25.
