A housebuilder is hosting an event aimed at helping renters in Renfrewshire explore how they could move into home ownership.

Taylor Wimpey West Scotland is running its “Rethink Renting” event on Saturday 18th April 2026, with sessions taking place across its developments, including those in Renfrewshire.

The event is open to anyone currently renting who wants to better understand the homebuying process or find out what options may be available to them.

Visitors will be able to speak directly with the Taylor Wimpey team, as well as independent mortgage specialists, to get advice on deposits, monthly costs and how mortgage payments could compare with their current rent.

Information will also be available on affordable buying options and homes currently on the market locally.

The sessions will run between 12 noon and 4pm, with no appointment required, allowing people to drop in at a time that suits them.

Audrey Ross, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said the event is designed to challenge the idea that home ownership is out of reach.

She said: “Many renters don’t realise just how close they could be to owning their own home.

“Our Rethink Renting event is all about giving people the information, confidence and support they need to explore their options.

“Whether someone is just starting to think about buying or is ready to take the next step, our team and independent mortgage specialists will be on hand to help them understand what’s possible.”

The event is open to individuals and families at any stage of their housing journey, from those considering buying for the first time to those ready to move.

More information is available on the Taylor Wimpey website.
