A free children’s gardening workshop will take place at the Dobbies Garden Centre Braehead on Sunday 3rd May, giving youngsters the chance to learn about the “Power of Plants”.
The session is part of Dobbies’ Little Seedlings Club and will focus on how different plants grow, protect themselves and can be used for healing.
Children attending the workshop will learn about a range of plants including climbing ivy, chamomile, aloe vera and the Venus flytrap, as well as how plants attract pollinators.
The session will also include hands-on activities, with children given the chance to explore the calming qualities of lavender before planting their own lavender pot to take home.
Ayesha Nickson, Event Programme Manager at Dobbies, said: “The Power of Plants is an inspiring and important topic for our Little Seedlings to discover this May. Children taking part can get excited to learn about plants with special powers including the ability to climb, protect themselves, and healing properties.
“Dobbies’ Little Seedlings Club is a fantastic way to get children enthusiastic about spending time in their gardens and nature. The free workshops at our Glasgow store are designed to be engaging and encourage curiosity, and the hands-on activities are always a highlight.”
Places are free but must be booked in advance via the Dobbies website, here: https://events.dobbies.com/events-by-venue/?v=7.
