Police are appealing for information after a 68-year-old man was seriously assaulted and robbed at a property in Renfrew.
The incident happened in Tennant Street between 2.30am and 5am on Friday 24th April 2026.
The victim was attacked by an unknown man and required hospital treatment. A three-figure sum of cash was also stolen.
The suspect is described as a white man in his 40s, around 6ft tall with an athletic build and short brown hair. He was wearing a long-sleeved dark jacket and spoke with a local accent.
Detective Sergeant Kenny McLachlan said: “This was a violent and sustained assault, which left the victim injured and badly shaken.
“Enquiries have established there was a disturbance in the street just prior to the attack, and we are appealing for witnesses or anyone in the area to please come forward.
“We would also be keen to speak with any local residents with potential doorbell or dash-cam footage from the area around the time in question.”
DS McLachlanm added: “Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident 0394 of 24th April 2026. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111 anonymously.”
