A 32-year-old man has been arrested after a car crashed into a tree near Renfrew.

The incident happened near the B776 at around 3.25pm on Saturday 8th August 2026.

The man was arrested after crashing his Nissan Almera into a tree.

Police said the driver was three times over the drink-drive limit.

He has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

Police Scotland said the pending consequences include a mandatory minimum 12-month driving ban, a fine of up to £5,000 and a criminal record.
