Club 69 has announced that its venue on New Sneddon Street, Paisley, is set to close on Saturday 10th October.
The venue, nicknamed the Rave Cave, has been run by the current management team as a passion project. The team has now decided to step away from running the club.
However, the venue could continue if someone comes forward to take it over. The team has invited anyone interested in continuing Club 69 to complete an enquiry form.
Club 69 said the venue’s history dates back to its first party in 1989.
The team said in a post on Facebook: “This has been a passion project for the current management team, and that project has unfortunately come to an end. It’s been an absolute pleasure to have played a small part in the legendary venue’s long journey, which dates back to the very first party in 1989 – but all good things must come to an end.”
A number of closing parties will take place before October. These will include events organised by Club 69 and external promoters.
The programme will begin with MDDLTN on Saturday 12th September. Further details will be announced on the club’s social media pages.
The team thanked the venue’s staff, DJs, suppliers, people working behind the scenes and those who have attended its events.
It added: “As it stands, the club will close on 10th October. Hopefully this isn’t final words, and there’ll be one more tune in the old Paisley Basement yet. In the meantime, we’ve got 7 weeks of events to go…”
