Paisley fundraiser Craig Ferguson has been named as a finalist in the 2026 JustGiving Awards after raising more than £1 million for charity.
The 23-year-old is one of four finalists in the Social for Good category.
Craig walked more than 3,200 miles across America in a kilt to reach Boston in time for Scotland’s opening match at the 2026 World Cup.
His Tartan Trek began in Los Angeles and took just over 100 days to complete.
The challenge raised money and awareness for SAMH, the Scottish Action for Mental Health.
It was inspired by the death of Craig’s best friend’s dad, who took his own life.
Craig wanted to encourage more conversations about mental health and turn the family’s grief into something positive.
He said: “Being nominated is a huge honour. I never take on these challenges for recognition, so this means a lot. It is also a reflection of every person who supported the journey, donated and helped us keep going.
“After all the difficult days and miles on the road, this nomination really is the icing on the cake and makes all the hardship feel worthwhile.”
Craig previously walked more than 1,000 miles from Glasgow to Munich for Scotland’s opening match at Euro 2024.
He raised more than £78,000 during that challenge.
Craig is one of 16 finalists across four JustGiving Awards categories.

The other categories are Mind Over Miles, Rising Star and Outstanding Commitment.

The winners will be chosen by a public vote, which closes on Sunday 13th September.

Renfrewshire News reported last week that Craig is also in line to receive the Freedom of Renfrewshire, the highest civic honour awarded by Renfrewshire Council.
The honour was proposed in recognition of his work raising money for mental health charities and encouraging people to speak about their mental health.
