Four Renfrewshire landmarks will light up purple on Sunday 25th October to raise awareness of Postural Tachycardia Syndrome (PoTS).
Renfrew Town Hall, Renfrew-Yoker Bridge, Tweedie Hall in Linwood and Houston Square Bandstand in Johnstone will take part. Buildings across the UK will also light up for PoTS Awareness Day.
PoTS affects the autonomic nervous system, which controls automatic functions in the body. The charity PoTS UK describes it as a debilitating, often invisible condition.
For many people with PoTS, something as simple as standing up can cause severe symptoms. The charity says awareness remains low and diagnosis is often delayed.
PoTS UK hopes the buildings lighting up purple will help raise awareness of a condition it says affects thousands of people but remains widely misunderstood.
Further information is available at www.potsuk.org. The charity has also produced a four-minute video explaining PoTS.
