Barrhead-based Morbs Jewellery will join 12 other artists at an alternative art exhibition in Glasgow this month.

Cult: An Art Exhibition will run at Transmission, 28 King Street, from 28th October to 2nd November 2026. Entry is free.

Morbs Jewellery makes chain mail and customised items. The exhibition will also feature painting, collage, sculpture, projected images and sound.

Co-founders Philippa Tomlin and Gerard Torbitt have brought together artists from Scotland, England and Northern Ireland.

The organisers say most of the artists are self-taught. Many have faced social and economic obstacles, and some are open about their experiences of mental illness.

Gerard Torbitt, an artist and co-founder from Belfast, said: “There is a tangible link in being able to address trauma through making art and it is important to us that we keep making and sharing this work for our own mental health. So we do!”

A free opening launch event will take place on 30th October from 7pm to 10.30pm, sponsored by Two Towns Down Brewery.

The exhibition will include free workshops and opportunities to meet the artists.

A collage workshop will take place on 29th October from 6pm to 8pm. An artist brunch will follow on 31st October from noon to 2pm, with a painting workshop from 2.30pm to 4.30pm and an Earth Magick ritual session from 5pm to 6pm.

On 1st November, a mindfulness art session will run from 11am to 1pm, followed by a sculpture workshop from 2pm to 4pm.

All workshops are free but require tickets. Places can be booked through the organisers’ Eventbrite page or Instagram account, @cult__anartexhibition.
