Mental health charity RAMH is exploring buying its Paisley premises to secure the long-term future of services delivered from the building.

The organisation is seeking £5,000 from Renfrewshire Council to complete surveys of the property at 41 Blackstoun Road.

Officers recommend approving the application when the Communities and Housing Policy Board meets on Tuesday, 27th October 2026.

RAMH currently leases the building from the Diocese of Paisley, with the agreement due to expire in 2029.

The premises support services across Ferguslie Park and Renfrewshire, including counselling, mental health recovery support, community groups, gardening and volunteering opportunities.

A council report says recent condition surveys have identified significant repair requirements, particularly to the roof and external str13ucture.

The proposed grant would help fund further professional surveys to establish the building’s condition, future maintenance costs, market value and investment needs.

These include a rot infestation survey, a drain survey using CCTV and structural investigations.

The findings would help RAMH assess whether buying the property is viable and support future applications for funding towards the purchase and building work.

The application is being considered through the council’s Sustainable Communities Fund, which supports community facilities and projects across Renfrewshire.
