A Paisley-based scaffolding firm has been recognised for its support of the Armed Forces community.

JR Scaffold Services, based at 5 Sandyford Road in Paisley, was one of 24 organisations from across the Lowlands of Scotland to receive a Silver Award from the Ministry of Defence’s Employer Recognition Scheme.

The award highlights employers who go above and beyond in supporting Reservists, Veterans, service leavers and their families.

Representatives from JR Scaffold attended the ceremony at the Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life in Coatbridge, where the certificates were presented by Air Officer Scotland, Air Commodore Mark Northover, on behalf of the Defence Secretary.

Evan Horne from JR Scaffold accepted the award, describing it as a proud moment for the team in the company’s 30th anniversary year.

He said: “It was fantastic to attend the ceremony and meet other businesses that share our values and commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community. We’ll continue to build on this recognition and support veterans and reservists within our workforce.”

JR Scaffold Services employs local people across Renfrewshire and beyond and forms part of The JR Group, which began in Paisley three decades ago and has since expanded into one of Scotland’s leading construction and building services companies.
