Essential upgrade and maintenance work is set to take place at Paisley’s Lagoon Leisure Centre next month to improve the main swimming pool for users.
OneRen will carry out a series of improvements to the pool water system, including an upgraded filtration system designed to enhance the swimming experience for customers.
The programme of works will also see improvements to the lockers, the installation of a new LED lighting system, new pool covers and a pool circulation flow meter.
Around 20,000 swimmers use the Lagoon pool every year and OneRen says the work will help ensure the facility continues to operate efficiently while supporting its commitment to improving energy efficiency and sustainability.
The pool will be temporarily closed from 8th December until 27th December, although OneRen members will still be able to use the leisure and cultural charity’s other pools at Erskine Pool, Johnstone Community Sports Hub, ON-X Linwood and Renfrew Victory Baths.
Pool users have been contacted to inform them about the works.
A spokesperson for OneRen said: “This is another important investment in the Lagoon Leisure Centre as part of our programme of improvement across all of our facilities. We are excited to see the improvements in user experience become a reality.
“While swimming lessons will need to be paused during the closure, we are keen to highlight that OneRen members can take advantage of being able to use our other pools for general swimming for this short period of closure.
“Thank you in advance to our members and customers for their ongoing support.”
Direct debit payments for swimming lessons will be automatically suspended during the closure period, and OneRen members at Lagoon have been contacted and given the option of pausing their monthly payments while the improvements take place.
