Braehead Shopping Centre will once again host some of Scotland’s brightest young entrepreneurs as the Young Enterprise Christmas Trade Fayre returns this December.

Schools from Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire, Inverclyde and East and West Dunbartonshire will take part in the event, which has been running at Braehead for more than a decade. It gives shoppers a chance to support local creativity and back the next generation of business talent.

The fayres take place on Thursday 4th December and 11th December, from 5pm to 8pm, with stalls offering handmade gifts, sustainable products, food items and unique festive creations produced by pupils.

Last year’s winners included Douglas Academy, who created hand-carved wooden boards, and Johnstone High School, who made reusable wax food wraps that funded food bank donations and community projects. Johnstone High went on to win Renfrewshire Company of the Year before representing the area at the national finals earlier this year.

Ashley Bisland, Centre Director at Braehead Shopping Centre, said: “The Young Enterprise Christmas Trade Fayres are a key highlight in our annual calendar. Offering a unique opportunity to buy presents you won’t find anywhere else directly from the young people shaping Scotland’s future – the Fayre is a not-to-be-missed evening out. Supporting our local communities is at the heart of Braehead, and this is just one way we’re proud to celebrate and champion the people that make it special.”

Eloise McNeaney, Company Programme Lead at Young Enterprise, said: “Our young people start the Company Programme in August – and the Braehead Christmas Trade Fayres are a much-anticipated opportunity to showcase all their hard work to the public. At Young Enterprise, we are so appreciative of the longstanding partnership we have with Braehead, and the support they give to everyone involved in making this event a reality. We can’t wait to welcome people to this year’s stands to see the innovative and creative products our young people have created.”
