Paisley nightclub Vienna’s has launched an urgent festive appeal to support Renfrewshire Foodbank after learning that its shelves are running dangerously low.
Staff at the club said the situation “hit hard”, stressing that nobody in the community should ever be left without food. They’ve pledged to do their bit by organising shopping for the foodbank — but say they can’t do it alone, and are calling on locals and businesses to get involved.
To encourage donations, anyone who drops off a bag of essentials at the club will receive a free ticket to either the St Mirren Cup Final After Party or the Day Party taking place on 27th December.
Local businesses are also being urged to join the effort. Those who donate will be offered a group bundle of tickets and a round of shots on arrival for whichever event they prefer, or support with arranging a Christmas night out.
Donations can be handed in during the following times at Vienna’s:
- Monday and Wednesday: 10am–4pm
- Thursday: 11am–5pm
- Friday and Saturday: from 9pm
The appeal will run until Friday 12th December to allow as much food as possible to reach Renfrewshire Foodbank in time for the Christmas period. The team say they are also looking at ways to offer further support in the future, but the immediate need is critical.
A spokesperson for the club said the community spirit in Paisley is well known, adding that even a share on social media can make a real difference for those unable to donate during a difficult winter.
They added: “Let’s all pull together, support the foodbank, and make sure nobody goes without. Paisley always shows up… let’s do it again. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for anything you can do to help.”
