A yellow weather warning for snow and ice is in force across Renfrewshire, with icy conditions and isolated snowfall expected to cause further disruption overnight on Wednesday into Thursday morning.
Ice is forecast to develop fairly widely through Wednesday night, particularly on untreated roads, pavements and cycle routes, increasing the risk of slips and travel delays during the early hours of Thursday.
Forecasters also warn that a new band of mainly light rain, sleet and snow will move in from the west, reaching Renfrewshire overnight and into Thursday morning. While snowfall is expected to be patchy, even small amounts could add to already hazardous conditions where ice has formed.
The combination of ice and wintry precipitation may disrupt travel and some activities, especially during the morning commute. Drivers, pedestrians and cyclists are being urged to take extra care, allow more time for journeys, and check conditions before setting off.
