A Johnstone funeral director has opened a new community fund offering up to £3,000 to support local charities and community groups.
John Roach Funeral Directors, based in Houstoun Square, Johnstone, has launched the first round of its Community Fund.
The funding pot will provide up to £3,000 in total across two cycles this year. Individual groups can apply for grants of up to £1,500.
The fund is open to projects that benefit people living within a five-mile radius of the funeral home.
Applications must fall into at least one of four categories: health, education, employment opportunities, and poverty and social deprivation.
The deadline for the first round of applications is Sunday, 29th March. A second funding round will open in late June.
Funeral Arranger Natasha Craig said: “As a funeral director rooted in the community, it’s a privilege to support inspiring organisations that are making such a positive difference locally.
“We’re delighted to be able to offer this funding and would encourage any local groups with a project that supports the community to apply.”
